In addition, the Center offers classroom instruction in subjects such as English, arts and crafts, music, Spanish, and computer skills.

Established in 1972, the Neighborhood Recreational Center has a long standing tradition of offering a full range of activities ranging from health and fitness, culinary, swimming, and various continuing education courses. The current home of the senior citizens club and Kiddie Kollege club, the Neighborhood Center is located adjacent to Hartke Swimming Pool.

Prentiss Walker Memorial Park & Pool is one of the newest pool facilities in North Las Vegas. The facility covers 3.2 acres and features a swimming pool and bathhouse, basketball courts, playground equipment, and picnic areas. Located at 1509 June Avenue, Memorial has quickly established itself as a popular destination with North Las Vegas residents.

Parks

Located at 4400 Horse Drive, Willie McCool Regional Park is the city’s most remote, and therefore unique, park. Surrounded by desert, the park serves as a hot spot for model airplane enthusiasts that gather seven days a week. At the other end of the park, the University of Nevada owns and operates and experimental garden there non-native plants are tested.

Established in 2003, Nature Discovery Park located at 2627 Nature Park Drive is arguably the most popular park among families. The 20-acre North Las Vegas park has several unique features commonly only seen at amusement parks. The grounds feature a stunning man-made tropical lake and waterfall intertwined with walking paths and a large, multi-story playground.

In addition, the park features a large dinosaur-themed nature area where life-sized dinosaur structures harken back to life on earth millions of years ago. And for those looking for a more traditional park atmosphere, Nature Discovery offers bocce ball courts, soccer fields, tennis, an outdoor amphitheater, and covered picnic areas.
